Kwanza

Kwanza Hood was born and raised in the city of Mount Vernon, NY. She is a Licensed stylist who received her training from Empire Beauty School in Virginia Beach, VA. Kwanza is completing the Working Mentorship Program at Humble Hair.  All techniques have been adopted and enhanced with her mentor, Shanita and customized by experience and natural talent.  While Kwanza made a name for herself by braiding hair in her native Mount Vernon, she also discovered her passion for being creative in styling hair. Her talents led her to an extensive clientele from local clients, music industry professionals, to Kool and the Gang, celebrity stylist; Misa Hylton and others. Her braid work can be seen in the Notorious B.I.G.’s video, Juicy. Kwanza’s desire for excellence is the driving force to continuously elevate her knowledge of techniques, products and trends to promote healthy and effortlessly beautiful hair. She is skilled in executing cuts, treatments and on trend styles for both relaxed and natural hair in all textures and lengths.
